Beautiful Zoe & Krysten, welcome to their love story. Zoe proposed to Krysten at her sister’s beautiful backyard in Echuca during Blues Festival weekend in July 2023. Zoe had been planning the special moment for quite some time, but Krysten had absolutely no idea what was about to happen. With a little help from her sister Kirby, the surprise was kept perfectly under wraps. On the way home, Kirby even pretended to hurt her ankle to slow things down and give Zoe enough time to put the finishing touches on the proposal setup.
When Krysten arrived, she was greeted by a stunning surprise – a huge LOVE sign surrounded by rose gold and white balloons, beautiful flowers and thoughtful details everywhere. Zoe got down on one knee and asked Krysten to marry her, presenting her with a beautiful white gold diamond engagement ring. Overwhelmed with love and emotion, Krysten said YES! A beautiful beginning to their next chapter together.
We had visited around 10 different bridal boutiques and, honestly, we just hadn’t found the one. Zoe was even at the point of considering wearing a suit when her sister booked an appointment with Anna Campbell.
From the moment Zoe stepped into her dress, she instantly fell in love. She knew straight away that Krysten had to experience it too and encouraged her to book an appointment. Just two weeks later, Krysten visited Anna Campbell and found her dream dress there as well. We loved the incredible attention to detail, the beautiful craftsmanship and the amazing experience the team created for us – including the chance to meet Anna Campbell herself.
Zoe has always had a love for hats and even has an entire wall dedicated to her collection at home. As a special surprise, Zoe and her sister designed and created a hat using offcuts from the wedding dress fabric. On the wedding day, she surprised Krysten, their family and guests by wearing the custom-designed hat – a beautiful and personal touch that made the celebration even more memorable.

We had always dreamed of finding a place where our closest friends and family could come together, stay for the whole weekend and truly enjoy the celebration with us.
While searching online, we discovered Eight Acres Lakes Entrance and we fell in love with everything it had to offer, the privacy, the natural beauty, the incredible space and the relaxed atmosphere immediately felt like the perfect fit for what we had envisioned for our wedding weekend.
Having everyone together was so important to us, and Eight Acres made that dream possible. We had 50 of our closest family and friends stay with us from Friday through to Monday, creating an unforgettable weekend filled with connection, laughter, memories and moments we’ll cherish forever.
Our ceremony was filled with so many meaningful moments and personal touches that made the day truly ours.
Zac and Jimmy, our brothers, built the beautiful arbour that stood as the backdrop for our ceremony – a special reminder of the love and support from our family that surrounded us throughout the day.
One of our best friends, Jayden, helped everything run smoothly behind the scenes, making sure the day flowed perfectly and allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment.
We decided not to see each other before the ceremony, but we still wanted to share a special moment together before walking down the aisle. We exchanged our vows while standing around the corner from each other, hearing each other’s words without seeing one another until the moment we finally came together.
Krysten walked down the aisle with her Pop, Derek, a moment that was incredibly special and emotional. She was followed by her daughters, Sharlet and Lucy, then our beautiful bridal party – Lauren, Tim, Monique, Jess and Kirby. Finally, it was Zoe’s turn to make her way down the aisle with her brother James by her side.
One of our beautiful friends, Amy, went on an incredible journey to become a registered celebrant so she could marry us. We were so honoured that our wedding was her very first ceremony, making the moment even more special.
After we signed our wedding certificate, we shared a heartfelt speech with our guests, thanking them for the love, support and encouragement they have given us throughout our journey together. It was the perfect way to acknowledge the incredible people who helped make our day so unforgettable.
We’ve been asked this question many times, and we still find it so hard to choose just one favourite moment from our wedding day.
Everything unfolded exactly how we had imagined it would – even with a surprise appearance from a cheeky rogue goat during the ceremony! Those unexpected little moments only added to the magic and made the day even more memorable.
One of Zoe’s favourite moments was finally walking down the aisle towards the love of her life. After all the planning, excitement and anticipation, that moment made everything feel real. As soon as she saw Krysten waiting for her, all of her nerves and worries disappeared, and she was completely present in the moment they had both been waiting for.
Heaven 7 Melbourne – They went above and beyond not just supplying 7 hours worth of drinks to keep our crown satisfied but offered to help serve food, were extra attentive to the bridal party and we could not reccomend them more highly. Rebecca Farley Photography, knew what we wanted from the first time we spoke over the phone. I think it was 1.5 hours later and we felt as if we’d known her forever. Her photos are amazing and we are so thankful. Eight Acres – the venue of our dreams helped us with a canvas to be exactly what we wanted. Ellis and Pete helped with all of our questions. T-Sax+Decks was our MC and music/ entertainment for the night. Trav is not just one of the most talented people we know but we is also our brother in law

Welcome to the love story of Julia & Jim. It was a serene Sunday afternoon, with the sun shining down on the backyard, when Jim surprised me with the most romantic gesture – a proposal just days shy of our 8 – year milestone anniversary.
As a fashion designer, I had a keen eye for detail and a clear vision for my dream wedding dress. After exploring various Melbourne brands, I was captivated by Pallas Couture’s exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail. I was drawn to their stunning gowns with full skirts and fitted bodices, and the intricate hand-placed embroidery on my chosen design truly stole my heart. I wanted a dress that would complement the whimsical atmosphere of my garden wedding and stand the test of time, allowing me to treasure it for years to come. And as the night drew to a close, I slipped into a custom-made mini dress that I had created myself over several months – from designing the pattern and cutting the fabric to sewing every last detail, including the intricate 3D florals. The end result was well worth the time and effort, as I felt like the best version of myself on my special day.
Enjoy every single minute of the wedding day as it goes so quickly and make sure to take some time with you newly husband or wife to take it all in away from the crowd. D not let the weather ruin our day you will be maring the love of your life in front of all your loved ones and that is all that will matter.
Jim and I had always envisioned a wedding that would be deeply personal and meaningful, so it was only natural that we chose my childhood home as the setting. We wanted an intimate celebration where we could have complete control over every detail, and a backyard wedding offered us the flexibility to create a unique and memorable experience. To keep our guests engaged throughout the afternoon, we designated three distinct areas for the ceremony, pre-reception drinks, and reception. Upon arrival, guests were treated to champagne and heel stoppers to navigate the lush lawn before being ushered to the back paddock, where they were greeted by the majestic willow trees that Dad had meticulously tended to. This picturesque spot became the reception area, where the white-on-white theme was perfectly complemented by the vibrant floral arrangements from the garden. After enjoying drinks and hors d’oeuvres on the front porch, guests made their way to the reception area, which was revealed with a stunning reveal as they walked through the leafy canopy. This hidden gem of our garden had never been seen by many of our family and friends, making it an unforgettable moment for all. We’re eternally grateful to my parents for transforming our home into a wedding wonderland – Dad’s hard work in the garden and Mum’s efforts in keeping the house looking immaculate were truly invaluable.
The most cherished moment for us was watching our special day unfold and being able to savour every moment with our dearest loved ones. As we exchanged vows on our 10-year anniversary, we wanted to create a celebration that would honour the love we’ve shared and the memories we’ve made together. And what better way to do that than surrounded by the people who matter most? The grand finale of fireworks at the end of the night was the perfect exclamation mark on an already unforgettable evening, leaving both us and our guests in awe of the magic of the day.

Hi, I’m Emma – a Gippsland-based wedding photographer and filmmaker, and I want to make sure you get to experience the best day of your life – on repeat. My philosophy is ‘personality over perfection’, ‘people over props’ and truly capturing the celebration of your wedding day so you can have that joy on tap.
Welcome to the love story of Sara & Marty. Their love story began back in 2010 at an alternative/emo nightclub called Bang. Their romance was short but sweet, with a bittersweet ending as Marty was set to spend a year studying in the United States. Life moved on and so did they, until fate brought them together again in 2017 – this time at another nightclub, Boney.
History repeated itself in a way, with Marty once again heading overseas, though this time only for three months. Unlike the first time, they stayed in touch – and when he returned, they were both ready to give their relationship the chance it deserved. From there, their love story truly began… and the rest, as they say, is history.
As avid nature hikers, Sara and Marty love nothing more than being outdoors together. In Autumn 2023, after a day of foraging, they were driving home through Allambee South when Marty pulled over so they could soak in the beautiful view. While Sara was lost in the scenery, Marty dropped to one knee and proposed with her late Aunty’s engagement ring – a moment filled with love, meaning, and the perfect touch of nature’s magic.
Sara – “I originally purchased a gown from a vintage boutique, but shortly after, the owner contacted me to say it had been sold in error and my size was no longer available. I was devastated at first, but I began asking around to see if anyone could recommend a seamstress. A close friend of mine, who is a Flamenco dance teacher, connected me with the incredibly talented Mem. From there, Mem and I worked together to bring my dream dress to life. My favourite features are the ruffles paired with the glitter-tulle layer underneath – they gave the gown such a magical touch.
As for the bridesmaids, both of them were eager to wear suits, which I absolutely loved – it suited their style perfectly and was one less thing for me to stress about.”
Marty – “The groomsmen and I hired our suits from Panthers Menswear in Moe, and they were fantastic to deal with. The guys came in for fittings, and we ended up choosing the Ferrari suit hire – complete with an old-style tailcoat jacket. It looked awesome and really set the tone for the day.”
Be ready to compromise on your plans and ideas – not everything will go perfectly, and that’s okay. The little hiccups won’t take away from the magic of the day. In fact, it’s so wonderful that you barely notice when things don’t go exactly to plan. Most importantly, soak in every single moment – it truly flies by. Our wedding was the best day of our lives, and if we could, we’d relive it over and over again.
The Thorpy Pub is just five minutes from our home, and it’s our go-to spot for dinners and after-work drinks. We’ve always loved the way it’s been beautifully restored – it truly feels like a second home to us. When Jill, the owner, mentioned they had hosted a few smaller weddings before, we started chatting with her about the layout we had in mind. After a few meetings and plenty of planning, we knew it was the perfect fit and decided to lock it in.
Our wedding was truly a labour of love – a DIY celebration brought to life with the heartfelt support of our family and friends. Inspired by the beauty of the Gippsland landscape, with its rural charm and native florals, we were committed to creating a celebration that was both sustainable and low-waste.
Every detail was infused with meaning: the sticks that formed our wedding arch were gathered from our farm, and each floral confetti cone was carefully glued by hand. Our dearest friends, Devon and Seraphim, lovingly took on the role of unofficial wedding planners, championing our vision and helping set up the space on the morning of the big day.
The way our community rallied around us was nothing short of magical. Their care, love, and effort are woven into every detail of our wedding – a reflection of the joy and connection we felt as we began this new chapter together.
Another beautiful memory – We danced the night away to our friends’ band, Pulse Train, surrounded by the love and energy of our family and friends.
Our celebrant and photographer were calm, uplifting, and brought such a positive energy – exactly what we needed on the day.

Our Real Wedding – Ness & Lachie met 5 and half years ago through Ness’s step brother. Lachie was his new friend from the footy club he had joined, and we met one night out at a bar. A few months later we had our first kiss, and Lachie moved to Tassie for work the very next day.
A first date didn’t happen for quite some time as our relationship started as long distance pretty much! And I can’t recall a first official date, but we had many picnics in Carlton gardens, and pub hopped countless of times.
We had so much fun getting to know each other, and still do!
We were doing a couple’s photoshoot with Donna Lee Photography, and Lachie proposed during the photoshoot! It is SO awesome to have the photos of the moment to cherish forever. And extra awesome that we both looked so dolled up at the time! Check this out, this is so beautiful their engagement.

Remember that it is you and your partner declaring your love forever, and nothing else matters on the day. I wanted a skirt that had movement and elegance, and I wanted to be comfortable! I didn’t want a gown that made me feel pressure to lose 5kg’s and ‘wedding shred’. I just wanted to be me. I love the beautiful silk and the unique tie at the back. It wasn’t at all what I imagined I would wear on my day, but that makes me love it even more. I had always been a fan of Grace Loves Lace, so I knew deep down it would be from there.
We moved to the area 2 years ago, and when we saw the venue we knew if we would get married it would be there. We love the Ocean, and always said our wedding would be by the sea.
It was the middle of summer, but the weather forecast was a random grey sky and 19 degrees! By lunchtime the sun came out and the wind died down, I was so happy. Our dress code was ‘fun and fabulous’ so all of our guests were dressed in bright fun colours! The ceremony was the perfect balance of laughter, happy tears and love. The flower set up was even more epic than I imagined and looked incredible with the blue sky. My Nanna is renowned for not knowing how to use her camera, so when Precious invited her up to take a photo and she turned her camera OFF instead of pressing the shutter button to take the photo – we laughed VERY hard.
All of it!! But an extra special moment was playing a game on the dance floor so the longest married couple was left dancing on the dance floor alone – my grandparents were left dancing (we had just celebrated their 60-year anniversary) and my family were in tears. Also, when I was reading out my vows and having a teary – our Dog picked up on that and started having a little whiney cry too! So cute.
Honestly all of them. Every vendor was absolutely incredible. A big shout out goes to Precious, our Celebrant, as she curated the most perfect ceremony and was the best MC! She personalised our day so perfectly, and cracked the best jokes, our guests thought we had been friends with her for years!
My florist Jessie from Alby Frank Floral created the perfect burst of flower fun that I had dreamed of and went above and beyond my expectations! And having a long-time friend such as Donna shoot the wedding made everyone feel so comfortable and made the day so fun!!

Meet our beautiful Narelle & Trev – they first crossed paths 16 years ago at University, introduced by mutual friends Cam and Lachie. Living in opposing halls of residence, their friendly rivalry began on the mixed netball court – where Trev was captivated not only by Narelle’s sharp shooting skills but by something more. After a year of friendship, one of them (neither can remember who!) sparked a conversation on MSN chat, and from there, the rest is history.
Their first official date was a classic dinner-and-movie outing at Chadstone, where they shared a meal and endured Semi-Pro – a film they both fondly agree was a terrible choice!
After choosing the engagement ring together, Trev stayed tight-lipped about when he’d collected it – and somehow managed to keep it hidden too! Over the years, Narelle had often hinted at her favourite spot on the farm: a peaceful waterhole that held a special place in her heart.
When the day finally came, Trev quietly went out for a drive to scope out the location and figure out how to get there. On his return, he told Narelle to get ready because he wanted to do a ‘photoshoot’ with her and their fluffy baby, Benji the dog. Narelle saw right through the plan but decided to play along. She was less impressed, however, when Trev paused at a gate and suggested she’d have to jump it in her nice dress – lucky for him, she let him back in the car after he got out and opened it properly!
Once at the waterhole, Trev set up the camera and convinced Narelle to pose. He discreetly hit record, then dropped to one knee and asked the question that would change everything. The result? Gorgeous images capturing the magic of the moment – the sparkling waterhole, the sun glowing behind them, and their beloved Benji right there with them both.
Get the big things locked in early, and provide a clear, high-level brief for your vendors – then trust them to handle the finer details. They’re the experts and do this every day! Make sure you collaborate as a couple throughout the planning. Even though Narelle focused on the details, she always shared ideas with Trev and welcomed his feedback and suggestions. And for the grooms: stay interested, be part of the journey, but be ready to support and go with the flow when it comes to what matters most to your bride!
Narelle shared “I fell in love with the Austin gown by Made With Love – there was just so much to adore about it! Simple yet elegant, it’s a timeless piece that combines classic beauty with a modern edge. The dress creates a stunningly flattering silhouette, hugging my figure perfectly – highlighting my hips from the front and, yes, showing off the booty from behind! Some of my favourite features include the low-cut triangle neckline, the fitted design that flows into a line of delicate buttons down the back, and the long, trailing skirt that looked absolutely incredible in photos. But the true hero of the gown? That breathtaking open low backline with its soft, beautiful cowl. It was love at first sight – and I couldn’t have been happier wearing it!”
We discovered Coonawarra Farm Resort – a place typically used for school camps! At first, Trev had a few reservations, but once we visited, he could see my vision and all the incredible benefits it offered. Like many venues, it gave us a blank canvas to work with – but at just a fraction of the price. And Coonawarra came with so much more: the breathtaking drive in with views of rolling hills and trees, multiple indoor spaces, a full caterer’s kitchen, an outdoor undercover area with BBQ facilities, a beautiful lawn framed by trees, and plenty of accommodation so all our guests could stay on-site. We even had access to the pool and canoes if we wanted them! One of the things we loved most was the flexibility. We were able to plan for both indoor and outdoor options and didn’t have to lock in our final choice until the day before the wedding. Coonawarra was everything we could have hoped for and more.
Our ceremony was filled with meaningful touches that reflected who we are. As the bride made her way down the aisle, we had brass band music playing – a nod to her love of music and passion for playing in a brass band. We were honoured to have long-time friends take part in our day. Ash, all the way from Canada, read a heartfelt prayer; Steph shared a beautiful poem; and Georgie and Lachie stood with us as our witnesses, signing the register.
For our first dance, we were lucky to have the bride’s sister – a talented dance teacher – choreograph something special just for us. We chose ‘Avant Toi’, a French song with gentle piano backing. The lyrics, meaning ‘Before You’, spoke so perfectly to our story: before you, there was darkness; but now, everything is lighter and better. It set the perfect tone without distracting from the moment (except for one friend who speaks French and caught every word!). The groom even explained the meaning in his speech, making it all the more special.
For Trev, beyond the unforgettable moment of seeing Narelle walk down the aisle, pulling off their wedding dance was especially meaningful. As someone who proudly claims to have two left feet, nailing the choreography – set to a song that held such deep significance – was a truly special memory.
For Narelle, it was hearing the beautiful, thoughtful words shared during the speeches. Listening to friends and family speak from the heart was incredibly moving. And once all the formalities were done, seeing everyone dancing, chatting, and simply enjoying themselves made the day feel complete.
It’s so hard to choose just one! Ella Del was fantastic – she made decorating so easy and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Our caterers were relaxed, professional, and served up the most amazing food that everyone raved about. And of course, Coonawarra Farm Resort was incredible – so accommodating and supportive, they really went above and beyond to make the venue perfect for us. These three definitely stand out in making our day unforgettable.

Hi! I’m Lisa. I live in Central Gippsland with my husband Derek, our two sweet girls, and our fur baby Elliot the cat. Read this stunning love story of Nephelle & Daniel – “Our love story is a unique and serendipitous one, woven together by a series of unexpected events. Although Daniel is a few years older than me, our paths didn’t cross until later in life. When we finally met, 8 years ago we were struck by the uncanny coincidence that his mother had named me before I was even born – a fact that still brings us laughter to this day. What’s more, both our families had relocated to Lakes Entrance from different parts of Melbourne, leading to an unexpected twist: Daniel’s mother, Ani, would later become my primary school art teacher. In the early 1980s, Ani was commissioned to name fishing trawlers for a company in Melbourne, and one of those vessels, “The Nephelle”, was purchased by my father from Melbourne at the time. As fate would have it, I was born in 1990 and named after my dad’s first pride and joy – his fishing boat.”
Renovating an old Chinese restaurant into a 5-star floating accommodation was no easy feat, and we can attest that it took a toll on our relationship. But the end result was well worth it – and what better way to celebrate than by celebrating our love and relationship? Daniel and I are a private couple who don’t often seek the spotlight, but we decided to take a different approach for our special day. With family members constantly traveling to far-flung destinations, we found that planning a surprise wedding was more stress than it was worth. So, we opted for a more low-key approach. We invited 30 of our closest friends and family to join us at Idle Lake House on March 10th, giving them just two weeks’ notice to get ready. We encouraged them to come as they were, with no fuss or fanfare – just a celebration of our love and commitment to each other.
Remember, the most important thing is to keep things simple and true to who you are as a couple. Don’t overcomplicate things – the day is meant to be a celebration of your love and commitment to each other. If you’re the kind of couple who wants to splurge on every detail, that’s wonderful. But if not, don’t feel pressured to break the bank. Focus on what matters most and prioritize what brings you both joy, and you’ll be sure to have a beautiful and unforgettable day.
Idle Lake House is truly a unique gem, and as its owner, I may be biased, but I firmly believe it’s unlike anywhere else on earth. With each new guest who steps onboard, we’re flooded with messages of amazement and congratulations, and it never gets old. Daniel and I are incredibly proud of what we’ve created here, and we love sharing it with the world. Hi, I’m Erin. I live in the Gippsland area and love to photograph weddings! I believe no two weddings are ever the same, which is why I adore documenting the authentic moments between a couple. I prefer to capture your day as it unfolds, in the most natural way possible. I know that you will treasure these timeless images for years to come. I love an adventure and love to travel far and wide. I always bring an assistant with me who is an extra set of hands and eyes to help ensure your day is as memorable as you have planned.
Our gorgeous Real Wedding, Bec & Phill – technically, we met back in primary school – but it wasn’t until Year 10, when our friend groups merged, that we really connected. After a bit of nudging from a friend, Bec finally made a Facebook account and started chatting with Phill online.
At the time, she was in full matchmaker mode – trying to set him up with someone else! During one of those chats, Bec told him that all a girl really needs to be convinced is a good sandwich and a little appreciation.
Our friendship quickly grew, especially through the back-and-forth teasing in legal studies class. Then, on the night of 27 September 2012, during a late-night Skype call, Phill asked Bec to be his girlfriend. Her reply? ‘Only if I get a sandwich.’ So, right then and there on camera, he made one – complete with banana peel and lollies.
For context: in those early Facebook chats, while doing the classic 20 Questions game, Bec asked Phill who he had a crush on. He gave a name – and she immediately shifted into wingwoman mode. But as fate would have it, it wasn’t the girl she was matchmaking that he’d end up with. It was her!
Our engagement took place during an unforgettable backpacking trip through Europe. Although we’d talked about getting engaged, there were no set plans – until Phill secretly packed the rings, determined to create a beautiful surprise.
Being a pair of self-confessed nerds, we’d always bonded over our shared love of Assassin’s Creed. So, Phill arranged for us to stay in a room overlooking the Duomo in Florence – right in the heart of the plaza. On our very first night, as Bec was getting ready for dinner, Phill played ‘Waltzing on Rooftops and Cobblestones’ from the Assassin’s Creed soundtrack and asked her to dance.
The song ended before he could ask the question… so he restarted it. This time, with Florence glowing behind him, he dropped to one knee and proposed.
Choosing my wedding gown wasn’t easy. I’d always imagined myself in something soft, flowy, and mystical – think fairy-meets-witchy vibes with layers of lace and whimsy. But I tried on a more traditional dress (mainly to make my mum happy), and to my surprise… I fell in love. The silhouette, the structure, the way it made me feel like an actual princess – and yes, it had pockets.
As much as I adored it, something still felt a little off – it wasn’t completely me. So I turned to accessories to weave a little of my own magic back in. I explored everything – celestial tiaras, gothic-inspired hairpieces, delicate capes and veils — but then I found her: the Rue de Seine Desert Rose Veil.
It was love at first sight. This veil brought everything together – the romance, the mysticism, the hint of the celestial. It became the perfect bridge between the gown I chose and the woman I am. The moment I put it on, everything just felt right.
Phill’s tip? If you’re setting up the venue yourself – double the time you think you’ll need. Those little finishing touches take way longer than expected, and having extra time makes the whole experience way less stressful.
Bec’s advice? Always come back to you two. Everyone will have opinions about how a wedding ‘should’ be – but the truth is, there are no rules. This is your day. You don’t need a bridal party to walk down the aisle, you don’t need speeches, you don’t even need a cake if that’s not your thing. What makes a wedding truly special is you – your love, your personalities, your story.
So take time to celebrate each other. Make the day a reflection of who you are – because that’s what everyone is really there for.
We looked at so many venues in the city, but in the end, we wanted to celebrate closer to home – where we both grew up and where most of our family still lives. After checking out a few local options, we fell in love with the charm and flexibility of Jeetho Hall. It offered the perfect blank canvas with plenty of character, and the cost made it even more appealing.
Being able to bring in our own marquee and not having restrictions around catering or drinks was a huge help when it came to keeping everything within budget. Originally, we planned to hold the ceremony inside the hall, but with more guests than expected, we transformed it into a relaxed chill-out space instead.
The location just felt right – warm, welcoming, a little bit country, and full of freedom to bring our own personality into every detail.
Some of the most meaningful touches from our ceremony were in the little details. All the dried petals we used were lovingly picked and dried by my beautiful mum and her dear friend – they had been growing and preserving flowers for months leading up to the wedding. Among the petals tossed by our flower girl were blooms from bouquets that Phill had given me over the years – a quiet, beautiful nod to our journey together.
One of the most special parts of the ceremony was having my mum come up and literally tie the knot during our rope-tying ritual. It was such a symbolic and emotional moment for us.
And while not traditionally ‘beautiful,’ one of our favourite, most memorable parts was holding a raffle to choose our witnesses! Rather than picking ahead of time, we called out three names on the day – with the first name drawn winning a meat platter we’d put together ourselves. In the end, a new friend and someone who’s like an auntie to me were chosen. It was unexpected, fun, and perfectly us – bringing everyone into the moment and letting our personalities shine.
One of the absolute highlights of our day was nailing our first dance! We had commissioned a choreographed routine through Fiverr – they sent us a video with all the steps, and we spent weeks practicing in our driveway, using chalk to mark out the size of the dance floor.
All that hard work paid off. The moment we pulled off the big lift and final spin, the crowd erupted with surprise and cheers – and it’s a sound I’ll never forget. It was the perfect way to wrap up the formalities of the night and made every minute of practice so incredibly worth it.
Honestly, I don’t think I can pick a favourite vendor – every single person who contributed to our day was absolutely incredible and left a lasting impact on us.
Donna captured our moments more beautifully than I could have ever dreamed. Racheal had everyone laughing and crying with her words. Xander’s harp playing was pure magic – so moving and soulful. Jamie kept the energy high, played banger after banger, and even let me live out my little emo dance floor moment (thank you!). The amazing team at Trullis were total superstars – they made sure Phill and I ate, drank, and got to enjoy a little of everything.
Behind the scenes, our hair and makeup team were calm, kind, and worked their magic effortlessly – even with my oddball requests and questions.
Every single person who showed up, shared their talents, and helped bring our day to life… you were all our favourites. We’re endlessly grateful.

Josie & Chris met through mutual friends in February 2016. On our first date, we went out for dinner. I was so nervous that I dropped all my cutlery on the ground. Despite my clumsiness and nerves, Chris never doubted how perfect we could be together.
Chris and I went to Walkerville for the weekend and little did I know that weekend Chris was going to propose. Weeks before this weekend, he went to see my dad at work and asked for his blessing of marriage and only asked my mum the day before as she cannot keep a secret especially this exciting news. I thought we were just going camping so I was wearing my old comfy tracksuit clothes. Whilst Chris was wearing a nice button up shirt however, I still didn’t click that anything was going to happen.
Planning your special day can be stressful and exhausting. Remember to breathe and try to arrange vendors in advance.
We then arrived to Walkerville, set up our campsite and then went for a walk along the beach where we had a picnic rug in one hand, my favourite songs playing in the background with a Bluetooth speaker, a glass of wine and beer in our other hand. We then sat on the beach. I noticed Chris was being a bit odd. You could say a little bit nervous, he kept touching his pocket and that’s when I realised he got up on one knee and proposed. He said so many beautiful words. In that moment, I didn’t have to think twice and said yes to the man of my dreams.
I’ve always dreamt about my wedding dress, whether I pick a dress that is a bit more Cinderella style or whether more tight fitting. After endless scrolls on Pinterest and researching online. I then went to the city to find my dress. After trying many styles of wedding dresses. I stumbled across Jane Hill where I tried on my wedding dress. As soon as I tried this dress on, I knew I had to get this dress, the way it made me feel like a princess. It was simple and elegant. It fits my body so nicely and got minimal alterations done. I look back at my wedding photos today and I still adore my wedding dress and I would highly recommend Jane Hill!
The Vines on Avon is a fantastic entertainment space in a convenient location, not too far from Traralgon where most of their guests are based. The venue is beautiful, with the vines providing a stunning backdrop.
Josie shared “that they organized a witness lottery by placing all our guests’ names in a bowl. The bride and groom then drew two names to be included on the marriage certificate.” This added such a beautiful and special moment to their wedding ceremony.
Josie loved her wedding day and shared “that one of their favourite memories was stepping away from their guests for a moment, which they enjoyed a picnic among the vines. It was a special time to savour each other’s company and cherish the realisation that we had just gotten married.

Sarah & Darcy met in a park in Melbourne through Sarah’s housemate at the time and instantly connected. Their first night together turned into an adventure – a pub crawl, late-night kick-ons at a friend’s place, and eventually, a 5 AM jam session in the lounge room, likely much to the dismay of their neighbours!
While traveling overseas, Sarah and Darcy found themselves in the breathtaking Cinque Terre, a place Sarah had visited before and couldn’t wait to share with Darcy. They spent the day hiking, swimming, eating, and drinking, soaking in every magical moment. But as the afternoon went on, Darcy started acting strangely. Sarah kept asking what was wrong, but he insisted it was nothing – when in reality, he had decided that tonight was the night he would propose.
As they got ready for dinner, they planned a quick walk up a hill to meet Darcy’s sister, Clare, and her partner, Matt – who had been keeping the ring safe throughout their travels. Darcy practically stormed up the hill while Sarah, true to her usual pace, took her time. At the top, Clare offered to take a photo of Sarah with the stunning view behind her. But as she turned around, there was Darcy, down on one knee, ring in hand. Clare captured the exact moment of Sarah’s shock as Darcy asked, ‘Will you marry me?‘
Trust your instincts and choose what truly feels right for you on your wedding day. If you want to do something unique or a little out of the ordinary – go for it! Sarah’s Wedding Gown Story – ‘Funny enough, I had tried this dress on when we were originally planning our wedding and instantly loved it. I almost bought it on the spot, but then we found out we were expecting and decided to postpone. When we started planning again, that exact dress was no longer available – but I knew I had to try it on one more time.
So, I made the trip all the way to Geelong and found the same design, but in a different fabric – linen! And I fell completely in love with it. The open back, the statement sleeves, the plunging neckline… and the best part? It had pockets! Not only did it look incredible, but it was also so comfortable. It was the one!’
Sarah & Darcy wanted their wedding to feel personal and truly reflect them as a couple – something unique and full of heart. So, they went for a relaxed, DIY backyard-style celebration, drawing on the talents of family and friends wherever they could and supporting local vendors along the way. Sarah shared ‘It was the perfect way to create a day that felt warm, meaningful, and completely us.’
Sarah and Ben felt so grateful to have their friends and family play such a big part in making their day unforgettable. Sarah’s dad’s Irish band, Mollimor, set the perfect vibe, and one of the most special moments was when she got up to sing a few songs with them – everyone joining in made it even more magical.
Their friend PJ took on the role of MC, while their friend Jacinta officiated the ceremony, making it all the more meaningful. Sarah’s friend Lil helped with signage and invitations, adding beautiful personal touches. And seeing Darcy’s parents’ home transform into a festival-like celebration was simply incredible. For them, it was everything they had hoped for – warm, relaxed, and deeply personal.
One of Sarah’s favorite memories was playing a few songs with her dad’s band, but the most special moment of all was the surprise she had planned for Ben. She had written and performed a song just for him – something he had no idea was coming until it was happening. Seeing his emotional and overwhelmed reaction made it all the more meaningful. It was nerve-wracking, but in the end, it was a moment they would both cherish forever.
Sarah shared regarding all of their wonderful vendors and one of their absolute favourite vendors was Annemarie from Stratton Photography! She captured our day so beautifully, making us feel completely at ease while documenting all the special moments. Her talent, warmth, and attention to detail made her an absolute dream to work with!

Jesse and I met up with friends at the Geelong Botanical Gardens to celebrate my birthday – a day that turned out to be far more magical than I ever imagined. He handed me a sweet little book titled ‘100 Reasons Why I Love You‘, filled with the most adorable animations and heartfelt words. As I flipped through each page, smiling and laughing, I reached the very last one – it read, ‘Demi, will you marry me?‘ I looked up, and there he was, down on one knee. It was the most perfect, heartfelt moment – one I’ll cherish forever
If people offer their help, let them! It truly took a village to bring our wedding together, and the day wouldn’t have been nearly as special without all the support and love from everyone who pitched in.
The moment I saw the picture of my first dress, I just knew it was the one. I’ve always been drawn to fitted silhouettes, and the backless design with a delicate cowl instantly captured my heart. I loved its understated elegance and simplicity – it felt effortlessly me. My second dress was a bit more dramatic, the perfect ‘wow’ factor for the party. I chose it because it echoed the backless cowl of my reception dress, tying the two looks together while keeping that same sense of chic sophistication.
We had been searching for venues closer to home, but nothing felt quite right. I’m not much of a beach person, so when I spoke to my mum, she suggested Daizies Function Centre, she’d attended a few functions there and thought it would be perfect. And she was absolutely right! I also loved the idea of getting married back in my hometown. Marrying in Warragul meant so much to me, especially since I moved away at 18, and knowing that Jesse agreed this was the perfect venue made it feel even more special.
We absolutely loved that our celebrant, Elisha, asked all the guests to take a selfie and send it to us – such a fun and personal touch! I wasn’t keen on writing our own vows at first, but Jesse convinced me, and I’m so glad he did. It turned out to be one of the most special moments of the day. We even included quotes from Dr. Seuss, Jesse’s favourite author, which added a playful and meaningful touch that made us both laugh.
One of my favourite parts of the day was having all my friends and family in the same room, celebrating us. I also really loved our first dance – you could say we ‘choreographed’”’ it right from our living room, haha! Those few little moves made the dance feel so special and memorable.
Honestly, it’s too hard to pick a single favourite – every part of the day was amazing! We took the time to choose each vendor carefully, and they all absolutely delivered. My makeup by Karissa exceeded every expectation, and our photos were just perfect. Elisha set the tone for the ceremony with such good vibes, while Kristen and Kim absolutely nailed the music. Michelle and Phill made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Truly, every single moment and every person involved made our day unforgettable!
