Tiana & Tom

The proposal

It was a picturesque day at Metung when Tom surprised me with the proposal of a lifetime. He asked me to join him for a leisurely walk, and as we strolled to a lookout overlooking Chinaman’s Creek, he got down on one knee and popped the question. The romantic moment was made even more special when he revealed that he had secretly stashed a hamper of champagne and treats in the nearby bushes. As I said ‘yes’, we toasted our engagement with bubbly and indulged in the delicious goodies, savouring every moment of our special celebration.

The wedding gowns

I wanted to create a truly one-of-a-kind wedding dress by incorporating a meaningful element from my mother’s own wedding gown, made from raw silk. This decision made my dress not only beautiful but also deeply sentimental. I worked closely with local dressmaker Janette Morrison to design and bring my vision to life. My mother was by my side throughout the entire process, attending fittings and witnessing the transformation of her treasured gown into a stunning wedding dress. I also repurposed the tulle from her wedding gown to create a stunning reception dress, adding another layer of emotional significance to the entire experience. The journey of re-designing my mother’s wedding gown is something I will always treasure, and I’m so grateful to have had this opportunity to connect with her on such a special level.

One piece of advice

All the hard work and meticulous planning that goes into preparing for your special day finally culminates in one unforgettable moment. When the big day arrives, take a deep breath, relax, and remember to soak it all in. Don’t worry too much about the little things – they’ll fall into place, and before you know it, the day will be over and you’ll be left with cherished memories. Trust that all the planning and preparation have set the stage for an incredible celebration, and instead of getting bogged down in details, focus on savouring every second with your loved ones.

The venue

Metung holds a special place in our hearts, as it has been a cherished destination for our family vacations since we were young. With a shared history of happy memories and countless laughter-filled moments, Metung is more than just a place – it’s a symbol of our childhood summers and the joy of sharing experiences with loved ones. For us, Metung is a reminder of the beauty of the East Gippsland region and the sense of freedom and adventure that comes with exploring its stunning natural surroundings.

The ceremony

Our wedding was a celebration of love, family, and tradition, with a strong theme of sentiment woven throughout every detail. I wore my mother’s treasured wedding dress, reimagined and reworked to make it uniquely mine. The ceremony featured a personal touch with the bride’s father and brother each lending us their cars, which we used to transport our guests to the venue. Music was also an important part of the day, with our sister-in-law serenading us with her beautiful voice. And, as a nod to our childhood memories, we chose two locations that held special meaning to both of us – the places where we had spent countless happy holidays together. It was the perfect way to merge our past and present, and to celebrate the love that has brought us together.

Favourite memories

As the sun began to set on our special day, we made a dramatic entrance at The Metung Hotel, arriving by boat alongside our closest friends and family, the bridal party. The excitement was palpable as we docked and made our way to the reception, where the energy was electric. The dancefloor was already pulsing with life, setting the tone for an unforgettable night of celebration with the people we love. It was the perfect start to our journey together as a married couple, surrounded by the beauty of Metung and the joy of our loved ones.

The vendors

Our special day was perfectly captured by the talented Hannah Gilbert Photographer and Daydreamer Videography, who expertly documented every moment of our love-filled celebration. But the festivities didn’t stop there – our friends Abbey Shaw, Miles Eddy, and Will Larsen got the party started, warming up the dance floor with their infectious energy and getting everyone in the mood to let loose and have fun. With great music, stunning scenery, and unforgettable company, our wedding was truly an unforgettable experience.

Ness & Lachie

The love story

Ness and Lachie met 5 and half years ago through Ness’s step brother. Lachie was his new friend from the footy club he had joined, and we met one night out at a bar. A few months later we had our first kiss, and Lachie moved to Tassie for work the very next day. A first date didn’t happen for quite some time as our relationship started as long distance pretty much! And I can’t recall a first official date, but we had many picnics in Carlton gardens, and pub hopped countless of times. We had so much fun getting to know each other, and still do!

The engagement

We were doing a couple’s photoshoot with Donna Lee Photography, and Lachie proposed during the photoshoot! It is SO awesome to have the photos of the moment to cherish forever. And extra awesome that we both looked so dolled up at the time!

One piece of advice

Continue to remind yourself not to sweat the small stuff! Things are bound to change or not go to plan. Remember that it is you and your partner declaring your love forever, and nothing else matters on the day. Stay true to what you both want and make your day authentically you- and it’ll be the BEST day EVER!

The wedding gown

I wanted a skirt that had movement and elegance, and I wanted to be comfortable! I didn’t want a gown that made me feel pressure to lose 5kg’s and ‘wedding shred’. I just wanted to be me. I love the beautiful silk and the unique tie at the back. It wasn’t at all what I imagined I would wear on my day, but that makes me love it even more. I had always been a fan of Grace Loves Lace, so I knew deep down it would be from there.

The venue

We moved to the area 2 years ago, and when we saw the venue we knew if we would get married it would be there. We love the Ocean, and always said our wedding would be by the sea.

Our beautiful ceremony

It was the middle of summer, but the weather forecast was a random grey sky and 19 degrees! By lunchtime the sun came out and the wind died down, I was so happy. Our dress code was ‘fun and fabulous’ so all of our guests were dressed in bright fun colours! The ceremony was the perfect balance of laughter, happy tears and love. The flower set up was even more epic than I imagined and looked incredible with the blue sky. My Nanna is renowned for not knowing how to use her camera, so when Precious invited her up to take a photo and she turned her camera OFF instead of pressing the shutter button to take the photo – we laughed VERY hard.

Favourite memories

All of it!! But an extra special moment was playing a game on the dance floor so the longest married couple was left dancing on the dance floor alone – my grandparents were left dancing (we had just celebrated their 60-year anniversary) and my family were in tears. Also, when I was reading out my vows and having a teary – our Dog picked up on that and started having a little whiney cry too! So cute.

Honestly all of them. Every vendor was absolutely incredible. A big shout out goes to Precious, our Celebrant, as she curated the most perfect ceremony and was the best MC! She personalised our day so perfectly, and cracked the best jokes, our guests thought we had been friends with her for years! My florist Jessie from Alby Frank Floral created the perfect burst of flower fun that I had dreamed of and went above and beyond my expectations! And having a long-time friend such as Donna shoot the wedding made everyone feel so comfortable and made the day so fun!!

Ellouis & Matt

The love story

Ellouis and Matt were high school classmates who remained unaware of each other’s existence. Surprisingly, fate intertwined their paths years later when neither sought love. Their connection was immediate and intense, likened to a magnetic force. Their inaugural date transpired on the beach, featuring fruit and rum. Rolling in the sand, they shared laughter for hours. Looking back, they credit the origin of their relationship for its strength and the promise of their future. They embraced authenticity, free from pretense or falsehoods, revealing their true identities, which ultimately led to their deep connection.

The first date

Ellouis and Matt were high school classmates who remained unaware of each other’s existence. Surprisingly, fate intertwined their paths years later when neither sought love. Their connection was immediate and intense, likened to a magnetic force. Their inaugural date transpired on the beach, featuring fruit and rum. Rolling in the sand, they shared laughter for hours. Looking back, they credit the origin of their relationship for its strength and the promise of their future. They embraced authenticity, free from pretense or falsehoods, revealing their true identities, which ultimately led to their deep connection.

The engagement

During their trip in the Philippines, Ellouise and Matt visited Matt’s hometown region, Bataan, where they reunited with family at the beach resort Anvaya. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Matt suggested a walk along the shore. Unbeknownst to Ellouise, who was preoccupied capturing photos of palm trees, Matt unexpectedly called her name, prompting her to spin around. To her surprise, Matt was down on one knee in the middle of the beach, presenting a heartfelt proposal surrounded by love and using his mother’s cherished ring. Overwhelmed with shock and joy, Ellouise excitedly shared the news with strangers nearby, who had witnessed the entire romantic moment.

One piece of advice

It really does go by in a flash. You can’t have too many photos. Say yes to disposable cameras. It’s okay if things go wrong; it will still be the best day ever because you will be surrounded by everyone you love, making it the greatest celebration. Make it as personal as possible; it’s easy to be swayed by things that are flashy and meaningless. Let your florist have full creative freedom; just give them colours. Have a colour palette for guests. And definitely book Strattan Photography.

The wedding outfits

Ellouise shared the instant connection to her wedding gown expressing, “The wedding gown I ultimately chose was not what I originally envisioned. While living in Perth, my mum visited for the weekend, and together we decided to go and look for a gown. To my surprise, I stumbled upon a gown that resonated deeply with me. The moment I tried it on, an uncontrollable smile came to me and I knew because of how this gown made me feel – and I just knew that this was the one. Before even revealing the dress to my mum for her opinion, I knew it was perfect.” As for Matt, he opted for a bow tie that exuded a cool vibe, eventually discovering one with a Sacred Heart emblem representing passion, love, sacrifice, and devotion—qualities they aimed to embody in their commitment to each other. Their attire reflected their individual styles, with the couple encouraging guests to don an earthy Aussie desert colour palette inspired by their memorable journey across the Nullarbor from Melbourne to Perth.

The venues

We chose our wedding venues because both are incredibly special to us. They perfectly matched our vision and offered us ample creative control to bring that vision to life. Narkoojee Winery, being close by and intimate, was adorned with beautiful gum trees and lush greenery, which we loved. Good Land Brewery Co, on the other hand, is a venue that often goes unnoticed, but it was just what we needed. The spacious marquee fit perfectly outside, and Good Land’s flexibility allowed us to arrange everything just as we wanted. We spent the night before setting everything up, and we’re immensely grateful to Jimmy and Layla for their help and support.

Favourite memories

Ellouis – how can I pick one?! When I think of my wedding day all the moments flash at once. The day is one big, beautiful moment. I loved that everywhere I turned was someone I loved. But maybe when the DJ let me take over the decks.

Matthew – Seeing Ellouis walk down the whole isle towards me, and how beautiful she looked and the anticipation of what we were about to do. And seeing everyone I love and their reaction.

Favourite vendors

This is the hardest to answer. Every vendor, we have a personal connection to. And if we didn’t before we certainly do now.

Nephelle & Daniel

The love story

Our love story is a unique and serendipitous one, woven together by a series of unexpected events. Although Daniel is a few years older than me, our paths didn’t cross until later in life. When we finally met, 8 years ago we were struck by the uncanny coincidence that his mother had named me before I was even born – a fact that still brings us laughter to this day. What’s more, both our families had relocated to Lakes Entrance from different parts of Melbourne, leading to an unexpected twist: Daniel’s mother, Ani, would later become my primary school art teacher. In the early 1980s, Ani was commissioned to name fishing trawlers for a company in Melbourne, and one of those vessels, “The Nephelle”, was purchased by my father from Melbourne at the time. As fate would have it, I was born in 1990 and named after my dad’s first pride and joy – his fishing boat.

The engagement / wedding

Renovating an old Chinese restaurant into a 5-star floating accommodation was no easy feat, and we can attest that it took a toll on our relationship. But the end result was well worth it – and what better way to celebrate than by celebrating our love and relationship? Daniel and I are a private couple who don’t often seek the spotlight, but we decided to take a different approach for our special day. With family members constantly traveling to far-flung destinations, we found that planning a surprise wedding was more stress than it was worth. So, we opted for a more low-key approach. We invited 30 of our closest friends and family to join us at Idle Lake House on March 10th, giving them just two weeks’ notice to get ready. We encouraged them to come as they were, with no fuss or fanfare – just a celebration of our love and commitment to each other.

One piece of advice

Remember, the most important thing is to keep things simple and true to who you are as a couple. Don’t overcomplicate things – the day is meant to be a celebration of your love and commitment to each other. If you’re the kind of couple who wants to splurge on every detail, that’s wonderful. But if not, don’t feel pressured to break the bank. Focus on what matters most and prioritize what brings you both joy, and you’ll be sure to have a beautiful and unforgettable day.

The venue

Idle Lake House is truly a unique gem, and as its owner, I may be biased, but I firmly believe it’s unlike anywhere else on earth. With each new guest who steps onboard, we’re flooded with messages of amazement and congratulations, and it never gets old. Daniel and I are incredibly proud of what we’ve created here, and we love sharing it with the world. There’s something special about Idle that seems to captivate people’s hearts, and we feel grateful to be able to share that with others.

Favourite vendors

We were fortunate to have an incredible team of professional’s help bring our special day to life. Erin Mathews Photography stepped in at the last minute, just two days before the ceremony, and did an outstanding job capturing the magic of our day. Wren Botanical created stunning flower arrangements that left us both speechless – their work is truly breathtaking!

Alana & Tim

The love story

Alana and Tim met over 10 years ago and during the first year of meeting, they developed a really close friendship, and became best friends. In Year 10, our friendship evolved into something more. Tim became someone I couldn’t go a day without talking to. During this time, I went to Europe for eight weeks, and the distance made our hearts grow even fonder. When I returned, it still took about a month for Tim to finally ask me out. I would get Tim to come around and help me study for exams, even though he didn’t study any of the same subjects. After helping me study, Tim finally asked me to be his girlfriend, but I cut in and said yes before he

The engagement

We took a trip to Fiji, and on our second day, Tim brought me to a small pebbled beach at the end of the resort to watch the sunset. It was there that he proposed, and there was no other answer I could give but yes!

The wedding gown

After a day of trying on numerous dresses around the city, my mum and I made our way to Twelve South Bridal, where I finally discovered the perfect dress. As soon as I slipped it on, I felt an instant sense of comfort and confidence. But what truly stole my heart was the thoughtful detail of having pockets in the design – it was the perfect touch that made me feel like the best version of myself.

One piece of advice

Make the most of every moment on your wedding day, as it will fly by in the blink of an eye. Amidst the hustle and bustle, be sure to carve out some quiet time with your new spouse to soak it all in and cherish the intimacy of this special moment. Remember, the rain can’t dampen the joy of marrying the love of your life in front of your closest friends and family – it’s a moment that will be etched in your hearts forever.

The venue

Alana and Tim decided to stay local for their special day, and as soon as they visited Mewburn Park Homestead, they knew it was the perfect venue for their wedding day. The picturesque garden and the stunning clear marquee that allowed us to dance under the stars were simply breathtaking.

As for the ceremony, I’d like to share a few beautiful details that made it truly unforgettable. Due to the gloomy weather, we decided to add a touch of warmth with candles lining the aisle, accompanied by exquisite florals that added to the romantic ambiance.

One of the most unique and memorable moments was when Tim, and I decided to add a playful twist to our vows. As his favourite candy is M&M’s, we took turns picking an M&M from a packet and whoever got the blue one got to go first. To our delight, I won the blue M&M and had the honour of saying my vows first.

Favourite memories

Alana shared her favourite memoryAs I walked down the aisle, my heart swelled with emotion as I caught sight of Tim’s radiant smile, his eyes shining with love and happiness. It was a moment that I will treasure forever, and one that made saying ‘I do’ to him in front of our closest friends and family all the more special.”

Favourite vendors

Alana and Tim are still beaming with gratitude for the incredible team that helped bring our wedding day to life.“ Julia and Adam from Mewburn Park Homestead went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was meticulously planned and coordinated, while the girls from Victoria Hall were equally impressive in their ability to adapt to the unpredictable weather, having Plan A, B, and C in place. And Hannah Gilbert’s photography skills were nothing short of magical, capturing the essence of our special day and giving us stunning photos to treasure for a lifetime. We feel so grateful to have had such an amazing team behind us on our big day.

Taylor & Bobby

The love story

Taylor and Bobby met at a local pub in Lakes Entrance when they were 18 and 21. Their first proper date was a walk along the beach to the entrance.

The proposal

Bobby proposed during the COVID lockdown, which was fitting because we are both home bodies. We were settling in for a pizza and a movie night when he unexpectedly popped the question in the lounge room, taking me completely by surprise. We then spent the night Face Timing our families and friends to share the news.

The wedding gown

Taylor always knew she wanted an A-line gown since there are few events in life where you get to wear a gown. She shared “My mum, two sisters, and daughter spent the weekend in Melbourne to find the dress. I fell in love with the Made with Love dress straight away. I loved its simplicity and timeless feel. As a simple girl, I liked how I could change the look of the dress with different accessories.”

One piece of advice

As you prepare for your special day, remember to savour the journey and don’t stress about the small details. Things won’t always go exactly as planned, but that’s what makes it a day to remember. Take a deep breath and try to soak up every moment, because before you know it, the day will be over and gone. And what a wonderful reason to cherish it all – you’re marrying the love of your life, surrounded by the people who matter most. It’s a truly unique and unforgettable experience, so be sure to take it all in and make the most of every second.

The venue

From the very beginning, Bobby and I knew we wanted to tie the knot in our hometown, and when Eight Acres became available, we knew it was the perfect fit. What’s more, the venue offered accommodation for our out-of-town guests, which was a huge bonus. Given that many of our loved ones had travelled from far and wide to celebrate with us, we wanted to make the most of our time together. We decided to host a pre-wedding dinner and drinks at the venue on Friday night, allowing everyone to check-in and mingle before the big day. Having the venue for the entire weekend was a fantastic perk, giving us ample opportunity to spend quality time with our friends and family before the wedding ceremony.

Favourite memories

From the moment Bobby started planning our special day, he knew exactly who he wanted to officiate our ceremony – Bobbi Wolffenbuttel. Her exceptional work at his brother’s wedding 10 years prior had left a lasting impression on him, and he knew she would bring the same love and care to our own celebration. Bobbi’s thoughtfulness truly shone when she incorporated a sand ceremony into the ceremony, allowing us to include our precious daughter Tully in a meaningful way. We were especially touched that she chose a personal touch, as we gathered the sand from Bullock Island in Lakes Entrance, a place that holds dear memories for us as a family, having spent countless summers swimming there together since 2013.

Favourite vendors

We were incredibly fortunate to have an amazing team of vendors helping us bring our wedding day to life. However, I have to give a special mention to Miss Fizz, who did an outstanding job keeping up with the high demand for cocktails throughout the night. Our guests loved to party, and she worked tirelessly to ensure everyone’s glasses were always full! Additionally, we received countless compliments on the delicious food, and we’re not surprised – Jacqui is a culinary legend, and her dishes never disappoint!

Unexpected plans

The weather was a bit of a challenge on our special day, but we learned that you can’t control Mother Nature. Despite the rain, our guests did their best to make the most of it, but by the end of the night, my hair was frizzy and my shoes were muddy. However, amidst the unexpected weather conditions, there was a truly magical moment during our ceremony. As Bobbi pronounced us husband and wife, we shared our first kiss – and just as our lips touched, a loud clap of thunder and flash of lightning lit up the sky! It was a memorable and unforgettable moment that we’ll always treasure.

Mikayla & Ben

The love story

Mikayla and Benn first connected 8 years ago when he messaged her on Facebook. After chatting for a while, they decided to meet in person. However, after two failed attempts due to Benn cancelling for various reasons, Mikayla thought he might not be interested. We eventually rescheduled for a third time and finally met. From the moment we met, we felt an instant connection and were comfortable with each other immediately. There was no awkward silence, and our bond continued to grow from that moment on.

The engagement

Benn took me to Mikayla to her favourite place, the beach, for a walk. After they had been walking for a while, I was slightly ahead of him, looking at the waves. He grabbed my hand, and when I turned around, there he was on one knee, asking me to marry him.

The wedding gown

Mikayla fell in love with her gown and shared “I loved the intricate details of my dress design and how it sparkled in the sunlight. The back of the dress was especially beautiful and became one of my favourite features.”

One piece of advice

Enjoy the planning process together because it goes by so quickly. On the day, take 5 or 10 minutes to step away as a couple and watch everyone enjoying themselves. It was the best thing we did.

The venue

Tamara, the owner of The Vines on Avon, was incredibly accommodating to our needs. She was very organised both on the day and throughout the entire planning process, making us feel calm and at ease. The venue itself is beautiful.

Favourite memories

“The moment I reached the end of the aisle and we finally saw each other was beautiful, especially as we heard each other’s vows.”

“Walking down the aisle was a highlight for both Benn and me. Finally seeing each other and sharing that emotional moment was unforgettable. During the reception, we took a quiet walk into the vineyard, reflecting on our guests enjoying themselves and cherishing some time together.”

Favourite vendors

We were lucky enough to have everything run smoothly thanks to our vendors.

“All of our vendors were fantastic, but the three standouts for us were our photographer, Annmaree from Strattan Photography, venue owner Tamara at The Vines on Avon, and celebrant Alana, The Homegrown Celebrant. Our day would not have run as smoothly without their support. Their calm and organized presence, both during the planning stages and on the day itself, made us feel at ease and ensured our special day was absolutely perfect.”

Olivia & Josh

The love story

Olivia and Josh had a long history together, as we’ve been friends since we were 14 and 16 which is over 13 years and counting!! With so many shared moments and experiences, it’s hard to pinpoint an exact “first date” – it feels like we’ve been crossing paths and growing closer all along.

The engagement

On a gloomy COVID-ridden day, we decided to take a spontaneous drive to the beach with our two beloved sausage dogs, Pippa and Maggie. Little did I know, that an impromptu adventure would lead to a beautiful proposal on the sand. The sun broke through the clouds, and I found myself surrounded by a stunning setup that left me breathless.

When it came to choosing my wedding dress, I knew I wanted something that would make a statement. I tried on several dresses, but as soon as I slipped into this one, I knew it was the perfect fit. It’s a little bit extra and a little bit different, just like me! I loved how it made me feel – confident, elegant, and like the best version of myself. The combination of its unique design and the way it shone in the sunlight was truly magical.

One piece of advice

“As the day unfolds, remember to savour every moment – it flies by in an instant! Before you know it, three years will have passed and you’ll be yearning to relive that unforgettable day all over again. Don’t stress about the little things, because trust us, no one will even notice if something goes awry. Instead, focus on the love you share with your partner and remind each other every day why you fell in love in the first place, even when life gets tough. Open and honest communication is the key to a strong and lasting relationship – make sure to keep the lines of communication open and talk through everything that comes your way.”

The venue

Immediately after getting engaged, we decided to take a look at some venues for our special day. I casually suggested we check out one place for lunch, and as fate would have it, it was the exact spot we had envisioned for our wedding. The dates they offered were even more ideal, matching our original plan perfectly. And let’s be real, the food and atmosphere were incredible, so it was an easy decision. We initially had our hearts set on a destination wedding, but with the pandemic in full swing, we realized that Phillip Island, technically considered ‘overseas’ from where we live, was the perfect compromise. It felt like a getaway, but still close enough to home for our loved ones to join us.

Beautiful details from the ceremony

One of the most magical aspects of our wedding was sharing it with our closest friends and family. We felt so grateful to have everyone there to celebrate our love with us. It was especially meaningful to reflect on our journey together, from our early days as tiny kids to now, as we stood before each other as husband and wife. A particularly memorable moment for me was when Liv’s cousin, Joel, sang a beautiful rendition of ‘It’s Always Been You by Caleb Hearn’ as I walked down the aisle. It was a truly special moment, and I’ll always treasure this magical moment.

Favourite memories

It’s impossible to pinpoint a single highlight from our wedding day – every moment was truly unforgettable. It’s cheesy, but it was genuinely the best day of our lives. From start to finish, everything flowed smoothly and effortlessly, with a contagious atmosphere of joy and celebration. And the cherry on top was seeing our guests having an amazing time too – we’re still receiving rave reviews and messages from friends and family saying it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to, even months later! It’s a memory we’ll cherish forever.

Favourite vendors

We had the ultimate dream wedding experience, and it was all thanks to our incredible vendors. With my hair and makeup team, I knew I was in good hands – they’ve been styling me for years, and I didn’t even need a full trial run – they just knew what to do! It made the morning of the wedding so relaxing and set the tone for a stress-free day. The same went for our florist, photographer, and videographer – they were all professionals who knew exactly what they were doing. They worked seamlessly together to capture every moment, and even joined in on the fun – laughing and partying with us as we celebrated our special day. And the results? Absolutely stunning flowers, incredible photos, and unforgettable videos that I’ll treasure forever. From the moment I got engaged, I knew exactly who I wanted to work with, and it showed in every aspect of our wedding day.

Carla & Lockie

The love story

Carla and Lockie did things backwards in the most perfect way. They started with their gorgeous family first: their two beautiful daughters, Sofia and Delylah. They both shared that there was something special about having their two babies with them on their magical day.

Sofia spent the night dancing, eating, and socialising with all the other children and Lyla slept most of the time, but to Carla and Lockie, the whole day was beyond perfect. It was breathtaking.

On 25th November 2022, they made their love story official at Carla’s parents’ gorgeous property, where Carla grew up.

Carla shared

“This place is home to me and being quite a sentimental person, it was a no-brainer. I could go on and on about how all the details meant something so special to us, but I would be here for the whole magazine haha!

At the end of the day, all we wanted was to celebrate our love with all our closest family and friends so to us, the day was perfect.”

One piece of advice

Slow down and enjoy the process. Planning your wedding is so exciting and it goes by so quickly – the next minute, the day has arrived and gone. Also, get yourself a coordinator/planner for the day, the morning of your wedding spent with your wedding party is one of the best parts! You don’t want to be feeling stressed and trying to rush around doing everything. Sit back, be pampered, and enjoy a bottle of bubbles with your favourites.

Alex & Cam

The love story

Alex and Cam first met on a footy club pub crawl, and it wasn’t until a few years later after Alex liked Cam’s Facebook profile photo, did things start to blossom. After endless messaging, it was time for their first date which felt like a blind date as they really hadn’t seen each other in years.  They met for a casual dinner, both barely eating due to the nerves and butterflies they both felt for each other. Nerves aside they both chatted away until they went to the movies. The film was rather boring, but the night ended on a high after they had their first kiss!!! Things progressed slowly from there and

It wasn’t until a trip to Hawaii together, that their relationship really started to blossom.

The engagement

Cam surprised Alex with a weekend away to Melbourne, telling her to pack something beautiful to wear, and to paint her nails.

One piece of advice

Take time during the day to spend a few minutes alone with each other to soak it all in and appreciate all that you have achieved. Appreciate the feeling of love you have for one another and the excitement for the future.

Alex thought this was a bit strange and was blissfully unaware of the upcoming events of the day. So, after constant nagging Cam with endless questions, Alex started noticing Cam was becoming quite nervous and it wasn’t until she realised they were at the QT Melbourne where Cam first asked her to be his girlfriend, that Alex suspected something was happening. So, after the arrival champagne was popped, and a few awkward moments later, Cam with a huge smile on his face, got down on one knee and asked Alex to marry him and of course she said yes!!

The wedding gown

Before Alex got engaged, she had already had an eye on a particular gown she had seen on Instagram by a well-known designer. As soon as Alex tried the gown on she knew it was the one. A timeless elegant gown made of French crepe that made her feel absolutely amazing. She was ecstatic!

The venue

Alex and Cam have always love beautiful Fulham park homestead.  Often driving past Alex would always say she would love to get married there, so it was no surprise that Fulham Park was the first place they looked at, and the last ! It was perfect.

Favourite memories

Alex remembers the huge smile on Cam’s face as he watched her walk down the aisle with her proud Dad. Both Alex and Cams shared a mix of emotions throughout the day, but finally knowing they were married was sheer excitement. The love they felt as a couple on the day is something they will cherish forever.
