The love story

Gemma and Ryan’s love story began through Snapchat’s ‘People You May Know’ feature. From the moment they met, they knew they were meant for each other. Their connection was instant, and they bonded over their shared love for simple joys like going on walks, playing games, and watching movies together.

The engagement

Gemma recalls “This moment was incredibly special to us. It happened in the backyard of our new home, which we had just bought. Ryan had spent the entire day working hard on the garden and later asked me to dress nicely for a dinner out. Before we left, he insisted I check out all the work he’d done in the yard. As I admired the transformation, I turned to find Ryan down on one knee. It was such a magical moment, made even more perfect with our fur baby, Louie, happily running around us. Afterward, we celebrated by sharing the exciting news with our families.”

One piece of advice

Enjoy the planning and the lead-up, because once the big day arrives, it passes in the blink of an eye. I still remember lying in bed afterward, recapping with my new husband, Ryan, and saying, “Wow, the day went by so quickly, but it was so much fun!”

The gown

Gemma had spent some time shopping around for wedding gowns, unsure of exactly what she wanted. That all changed when she discovered Mariana Hardwick. She instantly fell in love with the idea of a custom-made dress tailored to her vision. Pearls were her absolute must-have, and her dress turned out to be everything she had dreamed of. Even now, Gemma still adores her gown, knowing it was made perfectly just for her.

The venue

Gemma and Ryan fell in love with Degrandi’s Winery for its perfect combination of being a local venue and having a beautiful chapel on-site. It made planning their wedding so much simpler and more enjoyable.
